Where the story begins

The Shiba Inu is an old Japanese breed historically used for hunting in mountainous regions. It remains one of Japan’s best-known companion dogs.

Its compact, muscular build, pointed ears, curled tail, and contrasting pale markings create a foxlike appearance.

Shibas are often attentive and self-directed. They can form close bonds while still making their own choices about when and how to interact.
